Clubs and Organizations

Salt Lake Community College recognizes the value and importance of community in the academic success of its students. Clubs and organizations create opportunities for students to build connections with faculty, staff, and other students outside of the classroom. We have over 50 clubs and organizations ranging from special interest to academic-related to multicultural clubs. Through these organizations, students are not only able to develop leadership skills, but also create relationships through community engagement, and enhance their overall college experience.

Events and Meetings

When and where is Clubs and Organizations Conference?

Spring 2023 Clubs and Organizations Conference will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023. It will be offered in a hybrid style with the in-person component at the Jordan Campus in the Tim and Brenda Huval Student Center.

The format for the Clubs and Organizations Conference has changed from a 1-day conference to (2) half-day sessions. Attendees may choose to attend either the morning or afternoon half-day session or both!

Morning Session:
9 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m.
Lunch from Noon-1 p.m. (in-person only)

Afternoon Session:
Noon-4 p.m.
Check-in begins at 11:45 a.m.
Lunch from Noon-1 p.m. (in-person only)

During the morning and afternoon sessions, there will be a variety of workshops catered towards advisors and new, continuing, and graduating club members. Attendees can choose 5 workshops from 15 that are offered during each session. If club members and advisors want to attend more than 5 workshops, feel free to attend both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Who attends Clubs and Organizations Conference?

All club members and club advisors. Clubs and Organizations Conference is open to all club members, club presidents, and club advisors.

*Club presidents and advisors are required to attend Clubs and Organizations Conferences to meet tier requirements. If you are not able to attend, please send someone on your behalf and let Anita Lui (anita.lui@slcc.edu), Coordinator for Student Clubs and Organizations know. If you send someone on your behalf, please ensure that they share with you all relevant information.

Why should I attend Clubs and Organizations Conference?

Your presence at the conference ensures that you are gaining the knowledge needed to best support your club. As club leaders and advisors, your club turns to you for guidance, mentorship, and support. With the implementation of the new tier funding model, we want to ensure that you are given the training and resources to meet tier requirements, continue to receive club funding, and learn best approaches to helping your club maintain SLCC recognition.

The conference is also a leadership opportunity that provides training on how to lead an SLCC-recognized club and build community for SLCC students.
