Alicia Fisher loves seeing the light that goes on in people's eyes when they discover their own value. She has a voracious appetite for learning. She has been a student in her field for 13 years, and hopes to be a student for life.

Authenticity and empathy for creating self reflective space are her defining qualities. She believes each person is the expert on themselves, and she aims to provide guidance along the way as they find their own answers. Social Justice is incredibly important to her not just as a social worker but as a human being. Social Justice is about risking your privilege and speaking out. She is deeply passionate about social justice issues and is not afraid to display that.

As a licensed clinical social worker, and clinical director at a residential treatment facility, Alicia brings a wealth of experience. She is also a licensed substance use disorder counselor.

Alicia has three wonderful kids, three amazing dogs, one sweet cat and a remarkable partner. She loves to read fictional horror books, fantasize about having a cow farm one day, and laughing. She sees teaching at SLCC as a great honor and opportunity.

• 4 kids that I have homeschooled for 11 years
• Certified Yoga instructor (received training in the foothills of the Himalayas in India)
• Loves to travel -- been to over 25 countries and almost all 50 states (currently living in Cairo)
