Weight Training Isn't Such A Heavy Lift. Here Are 7 Reasons Why You Should Try It

January 10 – 15, 2022 – Full Steam Ahead

  • Redwood Campus Weight Room and Cardio Room Orientations
  • Mon/Wed 5pm – 7pm, Tues/Thurs 11am – 1pm and Friday 8am – 1pm - learn how to utilize the equipment, how to program and adjust machines for workouts
  • Wednesday, January 13th Drop-in Volleyball starts from 7pm – 10pm – no experience necessary, grab a group of SLCC friends and come play
  • Sign-ups for First 2 Free Personal Training Sessions continues, sessions begin

  • Powerlifting Club starts Tuesdays 11am – 1pm and Wednesdays 5pm – 7pm
  • Tuesday, January 18th – 11:30 – 12:20pm - Learn to cook chicken in an Instapot and Air Fryer (in person and virtual) LAC 110
  • Thursday, January 19th – 11:30 – 12:20pm – One pot healthy slow cooker dinners (in person and virtual) LAC 110
  • Lunchtime Drop-in Basketball Tuesdays/Thursdays 11:30am – 1pm begins – bring a SLCC friend and sign in to play
  • Drop-in Fitness classes begin

Drop-in Basketball rules

  1. Played using the full court, unless directed by the staff to transition to half court.
  2. Games will be played 5-on-5 format to 13 points.
  3. Made baskets will count as 1 point, behind the arc makes will count as 2 points.
  4. Winners stay on the court.
  5. Players are responsible for keeping their own score.
  6. No profanity is allowed.
  7. Players refusing to follow the center rules, drop-in rules or comply with staff will be asked to leave.

Powerlifting Club – Free for ALL SLCC Students, Faculty and Staff

Bench, Squat and Deadlift. Come learn the basics or refine your training in a super fun, dynamic sport appropriate for anyone ages 18 – 80+.  Women make up the fastest growing population in powerlifting as it’s empowering and engaging to see what’s possible.
