Welcome to Salt Lake Community College Philosophy classes!

Philosophy is the mirror, and at the same time, the driving force of culture. It is an intellectually appealing universe of the most deep, critical, theoretical reflection on the structure of reality, the logic of human knowledge, the essence of social relationships, and the basic human values. From the time of Lao-tzu, the Buddha, and Socrates, philosophy is committed to the most rigorous and systematic research of truth, goodness, and beauty.

SLCC philosophy courses will introduce you to the main ideas of the greatest thinkers of Western and Eastern Philosophy in their historical development and analytic structure; they will explore basic moral paradigms and their applications to contemporary most discussed cultural and social issues; they will teach you the basics of logically sound critical reasoning. You will be invited to participate in in-depth philosophy reading, workshops, seminars, symposiums, and conferences.

Open the door to the magic world of Philosophy!
