Photography Workshops

Great images are so much more than the camera when you photograph your everyday life.

Join us for two workshops and learn how to compose, capture and edit your photos like a professional.

Get tips from a pro! Your instructor, Russ Ford, a professional photographer prepared to help you learn to get the most from any kind of camera.

We suggest you take the courses back to back.

FAQs

No, you do not need to be a student at the college to register.

To register call our registration office at 801-957-5200.

The photography classes are taught at the Miller Campus.

You will need to bring your SLR digital camera, your camera manual, and note taking materials. There is no textbook for this class.

You can enroll in the Beyond the Basics class even if you have not taken the Basic class. However, we recommend that you take our informal self-assessment quiz. If you are able to answer most of the questions, your current knowledge should be adequate for the Beyond the Basics course.

The photography classes offered in Workforce & Continuing Education are not for credit, which means college credit is not awarded, and they do not show up on a college transcript. Salt Lake Community College does offer a Visual Art & Design degree with a photography emphasis. If you are interested in taking photography classes for credit, you can find more information here.
